PE days: Monday and Thursday
Welcome to Year 3! We are looking forward to an exciting Autumn Term as the children begin their journey through Key Stage 2.
Our learning this term will take us from the Stone Age to the Iron Age, with a visit to Celtic Harmony on Monday 21st September bringing our history learning to life.
In English, we will explore the fantastic Stone Age Boy and How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth in Autumn 1 and then two beautiful books The Mountains that Loved a Bird and Everest, developing our storytelling, vocabulary and writing skills.
In Maths, we will build confidence with place value, addition and subtraction before moving on to multiplication and division in Autumn 2.
We will also explore Animals: Movement and Nutrition in Science and begin our exciting Mighty Mountains Geography topic. French is introduced to the children this year, alongside our learning in Art, Computing, RE and PSHE.
PE takes place on Mondays and Thursdays, please send the children in PE kit. Parents are warmly invited to our Year 3 Welcome Meeting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday 16th September, where you can explore our classroom and find out more about Year 3.
Reading will remain a key focus throughout the year, and we ask parents to continue to support their children by reading with them five times a week and using TT Rockstars regularly to practise times tables.
