Hello Yellow Mental Health Awareness Day
Dear Parents and Carers,
On the 10th of October, we have a special day which raises awareness of people struggling with mental health.
On this day, we wear something yellow because it is called Hello Yellow Day.
Hello Yellow has been the annual Young Minds campaign to raise awareness and much needed funds for young people's mental health. Every year, schools, workplaces and communities across the UK wear yellow, fundraiser and show young people are not alone.
The campaign is typically associated with World Mental Health Day. Participants in the campaign are encouraged to wear yellow clothing or accessories and to organise events or activities that promote conversations about mental health. By wearing yellow and engaging in these activities, we show our support for young people, become aware of the challenges and the support available for young people experiencing mental health.
The colour yellow is used as a symbol of hope and positivity.
We hope you will join us and wear yellow on Friday the 10th October.
